Yes, meets or exceeds GM Dexos 1. GM licensed, NO.

Aren't most of their oils say so? They say the certs cost to much.

Maybe that's a cert they are going to pass on.

I'm sure the insiders will shed some light.

Again,

Amsoil said nay to the dexos1 license, but their new GF-5 5W-30 meets or exceeds the dexos1 specs.

Amsoil is not alone as other major oil companies have said nay as well. It's been posted here on the board before:

Chrysler 6395N is a 20 grade oil IIRC. Why does Amsoil suggest a 5W30 for an application calling for a 5W20 oil? Wouldn't that cause a possible issue with the mfg? No flames just a question.

Those major nays will be yeah's within 12-24 months, you can count on it. Referring to Valvoline, Castrol, CITGO, and Chevron.

And as big as GM is, if it ain't on THEIR approved list, well lawyers will make a lot of money in litigations.

I like this new labeling a lot better than the older version.

Have any idea who makes Amsoil bottles? I do like them, even the gallon containers.
