Toyota Highlander 2015 Winter Tire/Wheel combo

Hey folks trying to help my friend out. He needs a set of winter tires and rims.
I checked out discount tire and tirerack.com and it seems that steel wheels are not avaliable for this SUV. I do not trust aftermarket rims at all. Any one has any idea if steel wheels are avaliable in 18" rims size and fit Toyota Highlander?
How much would OEM wheels cost?

I'd call the local wreckers and see what they have that fits in steel and alloys.

I would check out the classifieds sections on various Toyota forums. Many people are upgrading to larger rims and are selling their stock OEM rims. Of course, shipping would probably be a deal killer, so it would only work if you could find a set within driving distance.


As far as aftermarket, some brands are better than others. I have personally never had a problem with any. Currently running a set of 18" Rials on wife's Q5 for winter. They are NOT made in China.

I bought used Toyota rims on e.Bay and had them refinished..I see first gen 16" refinished Toyota steel for $335 shipped that might just work.

16s won't fit on a 2015 Highlander.

Maybe a RAV4 17" steel wheel might work (if it clears the calipers or not)

235/70r17 is 1.3% larger
235/65r17 is 1.9% smaller

& you have options in both sizes with Michelin & Bridgestone tires (loosely stating)

Ask the Toyota dealer to see if they can test fit a RAV4 steelie onto your car.
