Anyone carry a tool kit on your scooter/motorcycle? Got caught yesterday when my oil line popped off, it was too slippery to put back on by hand! Today got a Kobalt document bag, regular pair of pliers, crescent wrench and already had a screwdriver from a past incident. This scooter is cursed!

The bag folds up prefect and fits in the front pocket of the Yamaha., only can see it if you know what you're looking for. Not sure what else I should take? Don't see a road side tube repair but maybe I should add some patches. Going to put a small tube of 2 cycle also.

My local tool kit involves foldable torx/allen keys, crescent wrench/10-12-13mm wrench's, electrical tape and two screwdrivers. When on trips, that adds mini compressor, tire plug kit, mini jumper and wire. Likely missing something.

I carry that plus a spark plug socket, some zip ties, a couple of different size hose clamps, and a little retrieval magnet. And a multi-tool like a Leatherman or Gerber or something similar. And small vice-grips.

I sure do. I ride in very remote areas. Mostly no cell service and 80% of the trails can only be accessed by bike and a capable rider. Couldn’t even tow a bike out of most places.

I also have a Leatherman multi tool, flashlight, tire repair kit, lithium battery pump, lithium battery jump pack. The R1250 GSA panniers are really big. I can fit my Shoei in the left one.

Wow I thought I was doing good with what I got 🤣 Granted this is a 80cc scooter. If and when I get a motorcycle a lot of good ideas on this thread!

I've carried a tool kit on my bikes for years. I rarely ever used it. Just a couple of common sized wrenches, a changeable tipped screwdriver with duct tape wrapped around the shank, and a adjustable wrench to fit what I think might loosen up. If something breaks or falls off, all the tools in the world ain't gonna fix it if duct tape doesn't work. I'd rather have the space, and less weight haul around.,,

When I get an old bike (the only kind, for me) the first thing I do is reconstitute the OEM tool bag, which is always missing its pliers, the 10mm wrench, and maybe some other random tools. Then, as I add farkles, if there's a fastener in them (Torx, obsolete crap like SAE fractional, a metric hex size not already present, etc.) I add them to the tool bag, or a small tool wrap if necessary.

On the big cruiser I go far and have big bags, so I also have a Safety Seal kit with small and large ropes and a little inflator with SAE battery connector. The little twin has tubes, so for tire care it just gets a pencil type air guage in the OEM tool bag.
