The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Does It Again.

Huge Rory Gallagher fan here. I got to shake his hand at the end of a concert. He was a man of the people. Irish Tour '74 was an amazing performance. Rory went to Belfast during The Troubles.
Have had Irish Tour / Tattoo / Live In Europe and a few other ones for many years on vinyl some even 8 track :ROFLMAO:. Got Irish Tour on CD as soon as it was available. May even have Tattoo in my collection. That was the one that hooked me. He is one of the few from that era I never had a shot to see LIVE on stage. Jimmi Hendrix was asked "what does it feel like to be the greatest guitarist?" He answered "don't ask me, ask him, go ask Rory Gallagher."

I am a huge Dolly Parton fan but no way she should be considered a rock and roller.
Lionel Ritchie, Carly Simon, and Dionne Warwick were great Pop singers, but rock and roll, nope.

This past weekend I found and watched a YouTube documentary of his life and career. Lost him way too soon. They say he was extremely shy and one on of the nicest people in music. The Rolling Stones actually tried to bring him in with them. Did not work out once they met. Think Rory was too nice a person and level headed to be in that music circus!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was on my bucket list of places to visit. However I saw some of the names and bands that were inducted. Not rock and roll. The place is no longer on my list.

Or Foreigner.

It has become a running joke at this point.
Or... Steppenwolf, The Guess Who, and Bachman-Turner Overdrive. These three actual Rock & Roll bands had a massive number of hits between them. They must be mad at Canada. I know that the Canadian band Rush finally made it in and they deserve to be there. The Band made it in but I personally believe it is due to their association with Bob Dylan who Rolling Stone worships as GOD.
Also, IMO Rappers have no business being in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Right and I bet you are right about THE BAND (I own about everything they ever released) + video. I have to watch The Last Waltz every few months or if feeling down / blue. LMAO - good thing the wife of 45+ years works in the day time. Lots of music I have to enjoy with her out of the house. She can't handle most of THE BAND's stuff. "how can you keep listening to that dreadful OLD PEOPLE music!?" Yet she is 64 , just a bit younger than me. Those Canadians always put an instant smile on my face. That R&R HOF is a sad excuse for what it claims to be. I wonder if Jeff Skunk Baxter is even in there as a founding member of Steely Dan to his run with Doobie Brothers who? By the way are they even in it?
P.S. we actually were lucky to see BTO about 8 or 9 years ago at a local casino. Those old timers could still blow the place apart! What a great time that was. YES.... no Guess Who / Steppenwolf is absured!
