Super High Temperature Urea Grease

Honda specifies using only Super High Temperature Urea Grease, P/N 08798-9002, for lubricating the slave cylinder ball-end, release fork dimple, and release fork bolt on manual transmissions. Retail price is $14.14 for 1.75 ounces.

I have ordered the grease, however, I would like to know why this application is so challenging? Furthermore, why wouldn't a quality synthetic grease, such as Amsoil GLC, work just fine? I've cleaned all of the old urea grease off the parts.

Actual name is Polyurea.

Not familiar with the assembly, but it sounds like a good high temp anti-seize would work.

And that is exactly what polyurea grease is, high-temp, anti-seize. Extremely high-temp.

According to Wikipedia Urea is a chemical component of urine but that doesn't mean it is the same thing.

This is true, especially for the urea that they are using in the diesel catalyst. But polyurea grease has nothing to do with swine urine. It is a clay based grease.

good point, polyurea is an elastomer, no tinkle in the mix.

the grease i use for everything is jd polyurea high temp/extreme pressure (non-clay)

its no where near the price quoted above

i use it on everything from snowmobiles to trucks, everything with a zerk, i think its around $$3.50-$4.00 a tube
