Stellantis negative sentiment

Aside from BMW and M-B, Stellantis is one of the very few automakers who sell vehicles I would actually want to own- and really the only other company I can think of is Porsche.

Stellantis is not smiled upon much here. I never understood that sentiment. Anyone can make a case againt any manufacturer if they want too, but Stellantis gets the worst of it. This morning on Bloomberg TV I noticed the one year returns for the 3. As follows, F 10.07%, GM a nice 22.08%, STLA a whopping 68.54%. Stellantis must be doing something right despite what some think, it seems.
You know you are absolutely right. Anyone of us could look across the internet and come up with all sorts of lists of "bad things" people have encountered with every manufacturer out there. I have noticed Stellantis having what seems like a bulls eye on its back the last ten years or so. Funny thing about that is it seems to come with the territory? Anyone who pays attention would have seen that over the past 10-15 years Stellantis products are everywhere to be seen. They are simply selling a lot of units people must want. So I guess that in itself brings lots of recent history/reviews (good and bad ) to the table. They must be getting something right ? Putting products out there for sale that lots of folks apparently like. I do not own one but sure been looking close at those newer model Chargers and lusting over them. Maybe.... if I do not end up owning Another classic or antique in the next year or so I may talk the wife into a new Charger! I just cant get the sports/classic/antique car stuff out of my blood even as I get older and owning one makes less n less sense since I cant maintain my own cars anymore. One of my sons wanted to murder me when I up and sold the last Chevelle out of the blue without even talking to them about letting it go around 2019 after owning that last one near 20 years.

I know the feeling; I have one car on the verge of classic status but I'd still like to own a musclecar eventually.

Please list the recalls all the others have in place too.

I'll get you started, Thanks.

Every brand has negative sentiment, lovers and haters, no big deal. I have two Jeeps and planning on buying a third. I might sell one off, and I might not. ;) Hopefully I have the same luck with my third as I had with the other two. If not I sell it take the loss and move on.
Have 1 2007 Grand Cherokee now and owned another one years ago that we gave to our son. Had several of the 4.0 L Cherokees (one was wrecked and I made the mistake of selling the others). If the 2007 dies from engine or transmission failure (all seems fine right now), will highly consider a new GC.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'd know this has impacted every manufacturer out there. If you had read the article and not just the headline -

The inflators are made by Joyson Safety Systems, a company that ended up acquiring Japanese air bag maker Takata after its bankruptcy. Takata used ammonium nitrate to create a small explosion to inflate front air bags in a crash. The chemical propellant can deteriorate over time when exposed to high temperatures and humidity. It can explode with too much force, blowing apart a metal canister and spewing shrapnel.

Owning a '19 Wrangler I purchased new, I get it. Stellantis had a rash of QC problems that simply never should have existed.

Off the top of my head: frame welds were horrendous (and, no, this is not people not understanding what robotic welds should look like, as has been suggested here before), fuses and relays not fully seated, a limited grip rear that eats itself and knocks, the inability to cure death wobble which is well understood, a manual trans clutch that catches fire, steering that locks up from an aluminum steering box, engine oil leaks galore, (pretty much all motors), heated steering wheel module fries, and 30 things I'm forgetting

KL Cherokees eat front struts and radiators at an alarming rate.

Some like to blame things like the limited grip and clutch on those sub-OEMs, but better companies vet their suppliers more carefully (er, well, except for that whole Takata thing.....)

That said, I purchased my JL expecting the feces show, so I'm just amused rather than disappointed. If anyone else made a SFA vehicle in this category, I'd consider it. I had high hopes for the new Bronco, but we all know how that went.
2020 in signature = zero issues …
Same with 2013 Charger traded on 2020 …
I don’t own them often - but so far so good …

You beat me to it. CR is a non profit that accepts no advertising. That's the good part.
But from a statistics purity point:
CR surveys are done by their subscribers which is a captured group. Hardly a blind survey population.
Sometimes the survey number of a particular vehicle is so low it is statistically meaningless.
"Reliability" is their catch-all term; it is poorly defined rendering it meaningless.

One year a car is on top; the next it is a dog. What happened?
Better off with Youtube, or better yet, BITOG...
Don’t you wish CR ranked specialists in pancreatic cancer - that’s where I’d go … 😵‍💫

Link on whatever similar thing that GM is doing!
What info are you asking for? I can They have had gateway systems since K2xx.

I'll add my good experiences with these in my fleet - a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland (166k), 2016 Ram Limited (134k) and 2020 Jeep Gadiator (56k)....all trouble free and quality vehicles.
