So who's making the K&N cartridge oil filters?

K&N actually makes an oil filter for my new car. It says "made in Germany" but has their logo. I'm wondering if they're getting a Mann or Hengst or Mahle rebranded, since those are made in Germany and are the big OEM suppliers.

Looks exactly like a filter that Mann would make, but I don't know for sure.

Actually the more I look at images of Hengst filters, the more I think it's one of theirs. The font for "MADE IN GERMANY" is identical. Mann's is totally different.
