I was about to go to Sears and grab the 3 ton talls for $25 or the 4ton professional for $40. In my searches I found some info. First of all, I trust the pawl with the ridges more than the pin, BUT, ANSI certifies the pin style and I have found one instance so far of the pawl failing and breaking a guy's face, so why not have both.
Only thing I can find in a 3 ton is the Torin T43002A and the unfindable chrome T43002CM. Pretty decent deal on Amazon and Northern Tool.
Never heard of Torin until tonight and have had great experience with 3 ton Craftsmans, so why mess with success?
Buying local is important, but online is ok too.
Any thoughts?
Oh well, I found some recent discussion that didn't surface in my first search.
