I'm not seeing that with Mitsubishi. GM trucks here have trans go out at 70k miles and don't tow...it's all relative.
Transmissions are a weak spot on most vehicles...

Mitsubushi have now pulled out of the UK due to poor sales which wasn't surprising. But then again, if all they're going to sell in the future is rebranded Renault and Nissan cars which we have anyway, they would have been a 'pointless' manufacturer.
Dacia is a Renault 'sub-brand' of which we have now owned 4. I like them and generally speaking they have been reliable. Certainly the 1.5DCi engine which is also used by Nissan and Mercedes is the engine equivalent of a cockroach. They just go on forever.
Jatco had to me improve when Ghosn went to them gave them an ultimatum. Either improve or lose our business. That was many years ago. Their CVTs are much better now.
In France, the Renault Scénic III 2.0L 140 (M4R/MR20DE renault-nissan engine (very reliable)) had a Jatco CVT gearbox.
I know a user who had problems with the gearbox at 250,000km.
The CVT has been drained regularly (incomplete oil changes), but the garage forgot to change the gearbox oil filter each time....
The ECU reported an oil overheating problem.
After replacing the filter, he was able to drive 10,000km, just long enough for him to find another car.
And it has driven 200,000km on E85 (super ethanol) with no modifications.
