Recommendation Needed... Short Trips and GDI Engine.

I have yet to see a proof that running one grade thicker viscosity oil vs what OEM recommends will cause an issue. The viscosity drop due to fuel dilution makes it within OEM recommendation.

There's probably a half million Hyunkias Theta 2 four cylinder TGDIs that have been ruined by fuel dilution, in combination with the manufacturer's bad advice to use thin watery semi-syn 5w20 oil for the manufacturer's recommended 7k OCIs.

How's that for proof?
What are the details here?

My wife has the same car, albeit a 2022 model and has similar driving habits. I run Valvoline Extended Protection 0W-20 and a Mazda filter. I change the oil and filter ever 5K and am just about due now. Pics of dipstick and oil for reference.
Maybe its just my 79 year old eyes but the Mazda black dipstick is not the easiest thing in dipsticks to read.

For what its worth.... I just checked the owners manual for the fun of it. USA and Canada use 0W-20. Everywhere else in the world Mazda specifies 5W-30.
