Hello all,
I started this thread for a filter for our 05 RAV4;

As for an update; decided to go with the stock filter size just in case Toyota had an issue. Looked at the local Toyota dealer for a filter, a 90915-YZZ-something. It was made in Thailand and unimpressive, rubber ADBvalve and "thimble" in the bottom of the can.

I ended up getting the NAPA Gold 1396 by WIX. Red silicon ADBV, spring check valve at the opening of the filter, a quality, well-made looking filter.

As for the FYI; the stock, factory installed filter was a really quality looking filter, 90915-10004 made by Denso.

Has a red rubber(?) O-ring gasket and red silicon ADBV, "clicker" valve? in the bottom of the can, and an almost "E-core looking" hi-flow interior. Looks exactly like the Lexus filter seen here:

and I'd bet that if I cut it open, it would have that trick filtering media shown.

So, I will now be on the look out for Toyota's 90915-10004 filters for my 2.4L RAV4 from here on out. Issue will be finding them!
