Propane usage

Wife just emailed me. Propane was filled up yesterday, and she wonders if something is wrong with our tank. Only needed 1.3 gallons for two months usage. We have gas stove and dryer; load of wash every two days if not one per. Wife likes to cook soup too boiling down bones, but I guess that is at low heat.

With the rise in temps is this expected? Tank being filled in Feb would have near 0-10F temps, while the other day it would have been 40-50's.

nevermind. We use about 40 gallons per year, so it should have been 7ish. Probably just used less, or will make up for it.

We use oil for heat and hot water, like 400 gallons over the course of the year.

Maybe they overfilled it last time? The gauge on ours has a section that shows how much is "full" at various temperatures. Maybe the guy was day dreaming and filled for a much warmer temperature and then figured you would burn it down into a safe range before it warmed up.
