This oil is tough stuff. I had many hard accelerations in these 8,000 miles. Lots and Lots of highway traffic.

Black Stone Comments
The multitude of highway miles have treated your engine right. This oil was run about 1,200 miles longer than the previous fill, yet wear changed very little and even improved at iron. That's a good sign that no problems are developing and since the TBN was still okay at 2.0, we think your could have even gone longer. Insolubles were fine at 0.3%, so the oil filter was doing a nice job at keeping up with oil oxidation and blow-by. Still no fuel dilution or anti-freeze present. Try going up to 9,000 miles on the next oil if you are on the highway a lot, else go 8,500 miles.

Why does everyone hate on Fram so much?! Data to back it up please? Convert me to a hater.

2006.......:

Any additives used during these OCIs? I ask because of the copper levels.

I'm actually surprised that you aren't showing even more life in the stuff. You're doing 7-8k every 3 months. On a 5.5day week that's a whole lot of steady state driving. But it surely looks like 10k is doable here. It would throw you out of your 3month OCI and into a 4 month OCI.

I don't know the engine well enough to figure if the copper is common or not (nice format, btw, but you forgot the UA's)

No additives. Do you think the copper is high?

UA = Universal Average

It is the average numbers from the same engine, about same OCI they have in their database.

It is a good start to compare your engine and see if it is in range with the others or better, or worse.

Thanks. Here it is with the UA

Now you can see that you are doing better than the average owner of this type of engine with less iron and half copper.

That is an excellent result, congratulations. You are taking good care of your investment.
