I built this with an SSD, a 64GB Crucial M225, but it was old when I started and failed shortly after being pressed into actual service (I stress tested the machine for several months prior to use to verify stability). I ended up scavenging a 120GB Fujitsu from an Xbox 360. I wanted to stay SSD, primarily because I am concerned the heat inside this TIGHT case will cook the HDD alive. But, I can't afford one. I still have the old machine, but I would really rather stay with this one, if I can.
Pulls 32 watts idle and 74 watts full load. The old machine was pulling 71 watts/152watts. So, 45% idle power and 49% full load. Thats what I was aiming for was to cut power draw in half. It does that and I get an extra core out of the deal. Then, they are faster to start with.
