On a 2011 Accord V6, do you really need...

the oil wrench cap to get to the oil filter? If yes, can someone tell me the diameter? I've got a drawer full of these things (hopefully one fits) and I do not want to pay Honda parts $20 for one.

Well, it's the 14610(Puro#) or 7317(Fram#) or Wix 51356, very common application. In the Purolator it's ~2.5" at the dome end, and 14 flutes. Wrench cap is helpful, though a standard filter wrench (strap) would/should work too. Honda (Fram) filter should be the same. No need for a special wrench cap from Honda.

If your at the store that sells both take the filter and keep putting it into the one that fits. Thats how I got mine.
