oil recommendation?

87 Silverton GM 350ci/270 hp. Port engine recent replaced with rebuilt and I use Rotella 15/40.
Old orginal engine I am using Rotella 40w. this older engine has less oil pressure when hot so I decided to go straight 40w. Runs great, actually better then new engine. Change oil twice a season regardless of hours.

Do you think I am doing the right thing or should I rethink my current procedure, maybe a different oil?

I would use the 40w Shell. If this is in a large boat (25ft+) use the 40w for sure. Those motors are really being worked hard to push the boat thru the water. Where do you find the 40w Shell?

JonS, thanks. It is a 34 footer. I have resisted the 40W in the rebuilt motor because the pressure would be off the guage at cold start up.
I but the Rotella 40w where I buy the 15/40 rotella, a local parts place called Automotive Discount.
