Oil filters....

Adding an oil pressure gauge is always a good idea. The idiot light only tells you when you are below a certain, say 5-7 PSI, pressure. A gauge shows more detail. Pressure goes up and down with RPM so you can get ealy warning, such as when normally you would see 40 PSI, and now you are seeing 25, or if normally your idle is 15 and now it's sitting at 8. Keep in mind that pressure drops as the engine gets hotter, and increases as the temps get cooler in the winter.

Aftermarket is the way to go here, as OEM gauges rarely are accurate, even when they do have the pressure marked. I prefer the type that has an electric sender as opposed to those with a capillary line running to the guage. The sender types react quicker.

Many OEM gauges are in reality, idiot lights, because they don't have a pressure sender, just a switch that causes the guage to go to a certain reading when the pressure is up, just like an idiot light.
