OIL FILTER MICRON RATING FOR SUZUKI DF200 4 STROKE

I am trying to figure out the micron rating for the OEM 16510-96J10 Suzuki oil filter for my 4-stroke outboard. I am thinking about adding an additive but it says it can not be used if the micron rating is less than 20. I can not find the micron rating for this filter anywhere. Does anyone know the actual answer?

No, I have never seen an OEM publish micron ratings.

What sort of additive is this? If an additive has particles that are larger than 20 µm then that is likely more of a problem than it is a help.

I think that filter probably cross references to fram 3614 or fram 4967. But do your own research.

If an additive is a concern as to plugging an oil filter don't use it.

Just don't use additives at all. Use high quality motor oil.

Quality motor oil. No additives.

I'd bet Suzuki does not recommend any oil additives.

Always used West Marine 10w40 syn-blend in my last 200 Zuck. Never an oil related problem. Heat-fuel issues were another story…
