That would be me, started out at 2K intervals in my used '65 Nova with sludged engine. Next car was 3K miles. When I switched to Mobil 1 and longer commutes in the '80s I went to 5K miles. I pushed it out to 10K miles on my '04 Camry (40 mile freeway commute to work) with engine spotless at 130K miles when I sold it. Now I'm retired and change them at about 10K miles w/ TGMO or Mobil 1. I have a few vehicles witch don't get driven as much they are on time based schedule, but still much longer than I would have done it in the 1960s. All engines spotless inside.
