I have two litres of Mobil 1 5W-30 I'd like to use up in the three litre sump of my 1992 Nissan Sentra.
Which oil will mix better with M1, German Castrol or Amsoil 5W-30?

Best option - buy another litre of Mobil 1 5w30

Second best - mix with Amsoil 5w30

According to the GC nuts on this board - never contaminate GC with anything.

WOW! The sump in your Sentra only holds 3 liters?

Well.... It's actually 3.330 litres with a Baldwin B113 filter attached, but who's measuring?

OK, up against the wall...

I'm from the conversion police. A liter is larger than a quart.

Nissan likes small sumps lately. My 3.3L Xterra has a 3.5 quart system.

They have liked these tiny sumps for a while. My '87 Pathfinder 3.0L V6 only held 3.5 quarts stock...

I'm glad people like talking about small sumps, but aren't there any other opinions about mixing M1 and the above choices?

Ugly3,

I don't want to buy more M1 since I have over 24 litres of ASL and GC on hand already. Apart from the "According to the GC nuts on this board - never contaminate GC with anything" quote, why do you favour ASL over the GC?

How about Amsoil? Because it has lot's of additives. Whereas M1 and GC do it more with esters - so for a super brew add the Amsoil.
