Hi,

Here is our first analysis of API SM M1 5w-30 oil. This is from my mother's 1997 plymouth breeze, which now has 83044 miles. This car has the 2.0L 4-cyl engine, and a 4-sp AT.

I am very pleased with the results, especially considering that the interval was much longer than before. The car runs great, has been getting great gas mileage, and there have been no problems. FP has been used on and off, LC has been used at the necessary dosages for the most part. A purolator pureone filter was used, and there was no top off required.

The one difference in this OCI is that whereas my mother usually uses this car for a 5 block drive 6x per day, a lot of the driving done in this car for this past OCI was my father taking it on 40 mile drives 2x per day, and then when my parents would go away. about 200 miles every other weekend. So there was a LOT of highway driving on this one compared to usual, and my father drives VERY gently, and was trying to maximize fuel econoimy at the same time...

Looks excellent to me. I would extend to 10,000 if they continue with the trips etc. Otherwise 8000 might be a wise choice. Still excellent results. Notice how the iron came down because the car was being used more on the highway. Just what I would expect.

Nice report. If that Calcium number is accurate, the oil may have been worn out at this changing. Great report though.

Nice report. These Chrysler 2-liters are very durable, low-wear motors. I have posted 3 runs from that engine in our 2000 Neon. 2 of them were ~8,000 miles each. 1 was Amsoil, 1 was Redline. You can look at those 2 here.
