Air filter has been the Amsoil EA, oil filter was M1. Car saw only Shell 91. Temps in late July through the end of August were 70-90s, 50-70s in September through mid October, 20-55, mid October Through early November, then a couple weeks below 0 up to 30s, December saw single digits up to 50s. Did about 8 runs to redline each week in at least 2nd and 3rd, sometimes in first. Warmed for appox 2-5 minutes and drive slowly til coolant has been in operating range for 5-10 minutes sticking around 3K rpm. Oil changed in late December with another run of M1 0w40.

Enjoy and thanks for any reviews and thoughts.

An interesting comparison of different oils in your Altima. The M1 0W40 did a good job here, but so did the GC. Low wear numbers show a good engine breaking in well.

GC does appear to be the better choice in over the counter oils for this app from what Ive seen. Though the automatic trannys seem to like the PP, they dont see redline quite to the severity.

I would say there is not enough difference in the metals to say one oil is much different that another. Also you are changing you oil way too soon .

Hi,
Nederlander75 - This is an excellent report. I agree with Steve, you could go for much longer OCIs (at least with M1 0W-40) - it is an excellent lubricant for this application - I would stick with it!

Best wishes

Both good points actually. I plan on running this next 0w40 M1 for 7,500 miles before changing out.

Thank you all for the feedback.
