KYB Excel-G shocks/struts - diff from GR-2?

I just put those struts on my Sentra (Excel-G) and the differences are unbelievable. On one had, they are transformative in that the car handles like a sports car - no joke. Too bad the car has 13" tires because all that improved handling is gone to waste with those tiny tires. On the other, the ride is brutal; it rides nicely on washboard surfaces but frost heaves and-the-such are killers. I sure hope they soften a bit. My Frontier rides like a Cadillac in comparison (has Bils from the factory).

Put a set of KYB quick struts all around on 2003 Honda Accord, these are VERY stiff, much stiffer then the OEM (only replaced as at 200,000 miles two OEM were leaking oil) and very unpleasant, after 20,000 miles still way too stiff, labeled "assembled in USA", a set I bought 5 year ago for a 2005 Buick Century were just like OEMinride quality and 170,000 miles later are still fine, no oil leaks.
