Comes out of the tube like a grease, like Sil-Glide, but isn't greasy. On one's fingertips, it literally melts into a liquid.
When applied to rubber, it goes on like a grease, but after a little time, "dries," and leaves a soft, pliable surface, not unlike what a solvent-based solution would, even though it isn't.
Does a great job preserving the rubber, and even better, leaves minimal, if any residue on areas where the seals come in contact with glass.
