Would like to change the PTU fluid in my 2019 Cherokee Limited with Active Drive 1. Has anyone tried that? Is it possible without removal?

Well, not really finding a whole lot. Here's an old post on here. Does it not have a drain plug? If it has a fill plug then maybe you could snake a tube in that hole to suck it out?

This post suggests there is no recommended interval.

Thanks. The front diff/PTU has a bolt you could stick a 3/8 ratchet in with no socket in to remove. It’s in a position that’s under a heat shield next to the exhaust under the subframe. No drain bolt. There is no maintenance info or service interval in the manual. So I’m not really sure what that bolt is for. It has that same bolt on the rear diff. No service interval for that either. I was able to replace the transmission fluid that was easy.

So, is think that bolt is the fill port but it sounds tricky to get to. You think you could snake a tube into it to suck out the fluid? Then take a pump to replace it or not enough room?
