that's true. if snows wore down to 6/32 and you drive in extreme winter conditions you only kidding yourself with self reassuring thoughts that you got "snow tires". and i wouldn't use even slightly worn out snow tires for warm weather. unless i absolutely have no money for replacement.
 
OTOH, we just did a 460 mile round trip, in rain ranging from light to downpour, in the Accord on Cooper Trensetters, and I can now state that these are great rain tires. Even though I know they really aren't. This is not a simple A vs B issue. We all want safety in the wet. What tire delivers it?
