head gasket treatment

One of my uncles used it on an an older high mileage Nissan straight 6 that had overheated and busted the headgasket on top of one or more cylinders. I'm not sure how bad the break was. To my knowledge, the car has been running just fine since, and it's been on some reasonably long drives.

Short answer, no additive on the market now will cure a blown headgasket. The closest thing I've found for short term is K+W block sealer. It slightly seal the gasket area but not for long. I used it once because I had about a week before payday and couldn't put the car in the shop until then. K+W got me through the week, but barely.
What about that Blue Devil stuff ? Engine builders hate it as it has to be chiselled off.
that seals leaks pretty good but also seals the heater core and some of the smaller water passages..

Plugs Radiators up solid too.
