I have never seen a ford engine fail using the FL910-S. Never ever. Nor any other motorcraft filter.

Torn media might not make an engine fail (it's still possible it could), but it can cause other problems. Watch this video from Ford Tech Talk. They even show a filter at time 0:54 with torn media.

It's been my 60 years of experience changing my own oil that the oil you use is far more important than the filter you use. Just sayin.

I have a wire backed Fram Ultra on a 5.0 coyote engine and I feel better using a higher quality oil filer.

Will cut it open after 40K miles.
