I just completed the first oil change on my '15 Tacoma. I saved a sample but should I send this in to Blackstone now or wait a few cycles after break-in to establish a baseline?
You'll not see anything of importance. Likely elevated metal and silicon from sealants. After a few OCI cycles, send one in and begin looking for what your engine does as far as trends.
Splain to me why would want to send an oil sample into the lab? Is there a suspected problem?I am sure the lab would like the $$$ Click here I just saved you $125.00
It would be wise to wait if you ask me. You likely already know that the factory fill will be riddled with high wear metals, silicon, etc. & so will the next 2-3 oil changes. I'd wait a while before spending the money.
