So with your logic a Jeep with stock brakes and 44" Super Swampers should be able to lock up the brakes? Swapping heavier wheels and wider tires could not possibly overcome the new found weight and traction?
Not sure what you drove at 160mph, but I bet it had better brakes than mine does.

My son's giant Ford with HUGE tires and wheels on it could easily lock the tires. And do it at any speed. Curb weight was over 6000 pounds and the brakes were barely adequate, but they always had one good stop in them. It was REPEATED stops they couldn't handle!
And my car has 4 piston brembos with 14 inch rotors at all 4 corners....
