I accidentally bought a 5/32 bit for the Dremel that doesnt fit . Box says Collet capacity is 1/32 - 1/8 . Can I buy a bigger Collet and if so.....what size ?

I bought some cheap rotary wood.rasps which were slightly too large for 1/8" standard. Collett, and the drill like chuck i learned to prefer.
I Used dremel and barrell sander to.reduce shaft diameter just enough to fit.
Was not much impressed with rotary rasp performance.

Get the dremel 90 degree head attachment. Wear out its bearings with u balanced bits and too much side pressure. Also yields increased control and precision.

I have an old 395 Type I. Other than motor brushes (I can use late model brushes as long as I swap the springs) and accessories, motor parts are hard to source. I pick up trashed Type I's for parts when ever I see them on the used market. The brush holders seem to the most vulnerable to breakage.

I tend to replace my Dremel chucks with these "universal" types. I don't think I have any 5/32" bits but I recall they open larger than my 1/8" bits easily.
