The transmission has been operating just fine (no change in performance in any way). The filter should be replaced every 30k miles or 1yr. (I would double-check on Magnefine's website because I've seen conflicting suggested intervals. I think in general it would depend on how your transmission operates, etc).

Nice! That G35 has decent access to that area which is unusual. The Jatco trans which allows for easy drains/fills helps too. The cooler lines are so short on my Cobalt, you'd need to add a large loop of line and locate the filter up out of the way. On my 2008 Odyssey, you can barely get to the cooler lines at all.
