As far as Wix, Donaldson, Purolator, and Baldwin are concerned...they're the same filter ...so you've got me swinging

I found that 4 digit Fleetguard numbers indicate a conventional media, while the 5 digit part numbers indicate the Stratopore media. YMMV.

I got a call back from a fleetguard rep today. The LF16104 does have a different media than the LF3945 but the lady was very specific that the media in the LF16104 was not "stratapore" but rather a "glass matt" or something like that. I asked her to email me the spec's on both filters. Going off memory, the LF3945 was 80% efficient at 30 microns and flowed just under 1 gallon per minute. The LF16104 was 100% efficient at 30 microns and flowed a little over 7 gallons per minute. Very similar numbers to stratapore if you ask me. Either way, I just received 4 of the LF16104's in the mail today, I will give them a shot.
