the dpf on the semi trucks at my last job didnt make 100k.
Sounds like there was good reason for Chevron coming out with the Delo 600 ADF. Too bad it's only available in a 10w-30 though.
How much prolonged idling did those trucks do?

@Chris142 Does CA have more smog requirements, in addition to Federal, on these trucks to cause a lower lifespan for the emissions equipment?
Our busses have up to 500k miles. The vast majority have a functional DPF. The oldestr ones are most likely to have a dpf warning on the dash, but even that doesn't mean they smoke.
Day cabs so very little idling. only idled to load or unload equipment or to build air first thing in the morning. Nothing like an otr truck that sits 8+ hrs a night idling.
Most jobs are an hour away or more on the fwy.
Not that im aware of. There is a new law coming out that requires the trucks to be smog tested every 3 months though .
Thanks for that. I know there was some sort of "Phase out" plan a few years back b/c I was seeing all sorts of older trucks being sold out of CA.
