CATERHAM, you are probably going to have a field day with this.
This is NOT my M5, so let's get that out of the way, this is for my wife's 328i.
Currently the car has Redline 5w30 in it but I am not going to be buying more of that. I'm considering my "options" so to speak going forward with this car and whether I just bite the bullet and go with M1 0w40 like I had originally planned (at $10/L) or go with something good (and obviously synthetic), but less expensive. The availability of "euro" oils is quite limited here, and subsequently, so are my options.
So, possibly deviating from the 3.5 min HTHS, I could use something like SSO 0w30, which is $2/L cheaper than M1 0w40 (roughly).
Am I nuts? (don't answer that, LOL!)
