Delo 400?

Rotella has Jaso MA on the back of the jug and cost about the same - easy answer for me. Skip the Delo and get the Rotella or Valvoline Motorcycle oil at Wal-Mart for $4/qrt.

Very few HDEOs bother with MA certification. Look instead for wet clutch and brake application approvals or "suitable for", such as Cat TO-2 and Allison C-4.

I do run rotella I was just curious usually the old white jug but last time I used T5.

Thanks user, I didn't know about the Cat and Allison cert. Good to know.

Both my bikes get the DELO 400, no clutch slip, even at hard shifts near red line.

No clutch slippage at all with Delo, Delvac, Rotella or any of the HDEOs I have tried.

For the record, Rotella does NOT have the jaso-ma certification. It merely meets the "performance requirements" of Jaso-ma, it is not an actual certified oil.

Here's the Allison list: http://www.allisontransmission.com/parts-service/approved-fluids/off-highway-fluids All good for wet clutches

Thanks Broc; I was just about to post this video on wet brakes from Cat. YouTube videos easy to post, instead for a better play list, search "wet brake video".
Wet brakes 'n clutches in automatic transmissions operate on the same principal. On motorcycles, the operator engages and disengages the clutch.

I think it always has had moly. I think a bit less than motul 300v...

Not sure about new Delo, but in the past I've used it in Japanese bikes with excellent results, no problems.

I switched from Rotella to Delo several years ago in all of my shared sump bikes and OPE equipment and I have had no issues.

I really like it and would use it with confidence.
