Chrysler oil spec

My Jeep has a Chrysler oil spec of 6395.I've seen another oil spec for Chrysler 6395N.Are these two oil specs the same?If different.How?Thanks Joe

Joe,

The suffix letter ('M', 'N', etc) appears to just indicate slight revisions to the MS6395 spec. I conversed with another member here who had seen the MS6395 spec. He said that it came out before the API SM spec came out a few years ago, but it essentially was the API SM spec.

I noticed that about every oil grade 30wt to 10w40 meets that MS6395 spec so Iam thinking it is not a hard spec to pass.
