Chevron Delo 400 synthetic base stock...

According to the MSDS its the same stuff as the stuff Quaker State uses in its synthetic API SJ/GF-2 oils, hydrogenated 1-decene homopolymer

Is Delo 400 any good? From the MSDS it appears to be a Group III

According to what Chevron told me via email... All their synthetics are Group III base stock EXCEPT the Delo Arctic 0W30 which is PAO.

I don't think it is possible to make a 0w-30/0w-40 strictly from a group III basestock - the extremely low temp viscometrics just aren't good enough. The Petro Canada 0w-30 also contains some PAO and most of these grades are PAO/Ester blended basestocks.

Tooslick the Delo 400 I have seen is a 15/40 oil .

Chevron offers many different products in their Delo 400 line. I would imagine 15w40 to be their most popular, but they also offer a 10w30, SAE 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and two synthetics, as TooSlick pointed out, which are 5w40 and 0w30.

I can tell you that the Quaker State 5W30 and 10W30 synthetics are Group III oils. No PAO in them.

No, the MSDS that you got that from is probably outdated.
