chevron base oils for automotive use

was reading a site on base oils and saw chevron makes a group three plus base oil called Nexron, is this like the GTL base that shell makes? Who else has GTL base oil for automotive lubricants or even similar?

Any base stock that meets the interchange requirements for Group III (as defined in API Annex E) would be similar. It’s not dependent on the origin. Several of them out there not just ones derived from GTL, all are based on the level and effectiveness of hydrocracking (including GTL).
 
There are smaller players - but some majors are cautious due to the cost of large scale GTL upfront …

thanks all,this helps on this information,sounds like the Havoline pro-ds maybe a type of group three plus,the pro-rs is a sort of plant based at 25%,though hard to find in stores

Havoline is good stuff but you better looks at Triax Lubricants or Amsoil for Group 4 synthetics
