this filter was used on the cooler lines on my 2002 silverado with a 4l80e. i had my transmission built top to bottom with all new clutches, steels, bushings, shafts etc 1000 miles ago and figured i’d change the external filter. looks like the transmission didn’t shed any terribly big chunks in the break in. replaced with a OG wire backed fram FS8

i chose to go back to the fram due to it having a silicone ADBV compared to the nitrile on the carquest. with my 3200 stall converter and 8600lb pickup i’d imagine the cooler line exiting the converter could get quite toasty at times.

What was date code? Appears to be old CarQuest made judging by center tube. Nice cut and post and photos. Thank You

i knew i was forgetting something… and now that you mention it, it didn’t have the baldwin name on the side like the last one i had.
