My old Honda motorcycle spec'd 80-90 wt Hypoid oil for the rear end gears. The book said to use 80 wt in winter, 90 wt for summer, or 80/90 for year round use. The bottle said it had a GL-5 rating . I found it at my Napa store. Most oil sold today isn't refered to as Hypoid oil, and the guys I asked had a blank look when asked for Hypoid oil.,,

"Whats the diff?" - that IS hilarious!

If the diff is on the f150 and you are in tampa I would say go with the 80w-90 GL5.

Do you have traction loc? IRC this requires no friction mods?

Yes.
Diff?, simply put, is that the 75-90 flows like a 75 weight at start up, both are 90 weight during machine operation.

Yes, either 80w90 or 75w90 would work, provided they are hypoid gear oils.

Although honestly, we hear so many stories on this board (and other forums) of people using X instead of Y and having "no issues", I doubt you will notice as well.
