Better than Motul 300V 5W30

Off the top of my head, the 10W-40 has a HTHSV of something like 4.2cP and 2.68cP for the 0W-20 which would net something slightly less than 3.4cP, or mid-grade 5W-30. A bit lighter than Motul's own 5W-30.

But with a slightly higher overall VI (than their straight 300V 5W-30)??

If so, that would also be a great summer OCI for my app.

Since it isn't our money lets just tell the OP to fill his crankcase with gold. :p
Realistically there is a price point to protection. I would use Red Line for
racing and not street use. My suggestion is to save your cash and use 5W30 GTX
with a Purolator air & oil filter. Why spend more than you really have to?
I am sure the OP has other uses for his money instead of buying high dollar Motul.

Yes the 0W-20 has a VI of 177 so you're right the blend will have a VI of about 168 vs 162 for Motul's own 5W-30. The HTHSV should be 3.4cP.
We are talking the Auto 300V 10W-40 and not the 4T version which quite different?

BTW, why go with the low VI 10W-40 and not the 5W-40 with it's higher 176 VI? The blend will give you a high 176 VI and you'll only need 40/60 blend of the 5W-40/0W-20 to acheive the same HTHSV.

Very true, for some reason I was stuck on a 50/50 mix, and did not consider/think of a 60/40, or 40/60, etc.
