What's overrated about them? Will they wash the dishes? No. Are they a pretty compact, relatively low cost, very reliable, durable, easy to work on, parts accessories and mags everywhere for cheap, gun? Yes. Now if you want to talk overrated you need to look no further than a 1911. A quality one that runs 100% in skilled hands is a great system but most people paid double to have a harder to carry finicky gun that they can't shoot any better and maybe not as good as any of the current quality polymer guns.
