Second that.
Mobil1 fanboyism on this site is really tireing...

Okay, I am currently a GC user. But, it seems to be a little thick for my Toyota. So, what have been some good oils, or lets say top "3" 5w30 Synthetic oils? Why are they better? Not just, "My dad used them, so I use them...or because I have always used them, so you should too". I am looking for experiences, maybe UOA history...etc...

Thanks all.
My Tacoma uses Amsoil Series 3000, great oil but a tad too thick...gas milage has suffered alittle. I just oredered Amsoil Series 2000 which is a 0W30 and is supposed to be one of the best oils out there.
Currently leaning toward Pennzoil Platinum, and I will never use Supertech or any off name brand oils.

I thought about trying to Mobil 1, but I have heard that it is a little noisy, plus, for 5k OCI's, it is a little more expensive than PP or Syntec.

toyota valvetrains like a thicker film

Here is a UOA with Pennzoil 5w-30 Conventional. Hardly a "thick oil".

My sister uses only Mobil 1 5W-30 and a Toyota filter in her 2001 Tacoma....VERY quiet at idle, smooth operation and 100K miles with no visits to the Toyota doctor thus far.
