I bought one a couple of months ago and am getting about 130 ft lbs of "nut busting torque" instead of the advertised 740 ft lbs. I am using 3AH Makita batteries which have been used in my drill for the last eight years.

I am considering buying 5AH or 6AH batteries for more torque.
The 6AH is $162Cdn on Amazon, claimed to be genuine Makita https://www.amazon.ca/Makita-197424-0-BATTERY-BL1860B-INDICATOR/dp/B0042CVBLO?th=1

Then there is the Waitely Makita clone 6AH for $36Cdn, on AliExpress. The price makes it tempting. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...48215414a89975533572a305783&afSmartRedirect=y

bought several generics on amazon for various Makita 18V tools, all work well + my wallet loves it $$$

CHEAP China knock off batteries may be good for home owner jobs, but for trade and industrial use they are a 110% epic failure. You very soon find you made a bad choice on buying cheap NON-performing batteries.

I concur.
Don't even touch Vanon batteries. You'll get burned for sure. Nothing worse than a unhappy wife doing yard clean up and the new fully charged Vanon 9.0 A/H battery lasted 1/5 of the amount of time than the old/bad Milwaukee 9.0 A/H it was to replace.
Stick with manufacturers replacements only.

I have bought a few original Makita batteries on ebay, just pay attention to the seller to avoid fakes. If I were looking for myself I would have no problem buying this one. 99.5% positive with 5701 sales, sold 615 batteries.
If you want power use OE batteries not cheap junk knockoffs.
