So my wife backed out of the garage with the liftgate partially opened after it failed to close when my daughter put her cello in back.

The garage door headed caught the upper spoiler that houses the wiper sprayer and 3rd brake light and tore it mostly off the liftgate.

Lucky me, the part is only $969 and will require painting as well. Unfortunately, there aren’t any used ones available. I removed the damaged part from the Suburban but wasn’t sure if this is just a grommet and I can disconnect the harness once I remove it or if I need to pull down the roof interior trim or headliner.

At least the glass is intact and the gate itself appears ok.

should be clips on one side. pull the rubber seal up slightly to see under it. depress both clips and pull it out. there is a connector on the body side of it IIRC.

I’ll give that a shot tomorrow, thanks. Didn’t want to strong arm anything and break it like I typically do.

@Owen Lucas -any idea what the paint time is on the spoiler for a 2021 Suburban? I’d guess 1.5-2 hours base and an hour clear or so.
