Yes, these were both USA manufactured filters.

I don't have today (right now) Amsoil EaO17 and RP 20-500.
But I have just measured weights of 4 filters FL820 (without boxes) just recieved:
1) Motorcraft FS-820S original (USA): 379g
2) Amsoil EaO11 (USA): 453g
3) Royal Purple 20-820 (USA): 495g
4) Bosch DP D3410 (USA): 512g
Are you still sure that Amsoil and RP are the same?
