I have a 1993 f250, when starting it the wait to start light doesn't come on. I don't hear any clicking from the relay. The truck starts, not too rough when it gets going, but it has been fairly warm outside. Maybe bad glow plugs? Relay?

Easy to test them with a test light. DO NOT use any aftermarket GP's!!!!!!!!!!! Beru or Motorcraft only unless you like to remove the heads to get the aftermarket ones out.

Actually I can hear a clicking, probably time for some glow plugs

You can check them with a meter, unplug the terminal from them one at a time, should be 2 or 3 ohms to the block or negative terminal. The clicking shouldn't start until the key has been in run for 10-20 seconds, could be a bad relay.

Since it is an IDI engine, having glow plugs that function perfectly are a must in order to make starting easy. With some direct injection diesels, if you forget to heat the glow plugs in warm weather, the engine starts quickly anyway.

Anyway, there are youtube channels dedicated to the Ford IDI engine. They probably will help you more than I can.
