Absolutely - 99.999% load using whatever the available HP/TQ is, even with a tail wind ... There is no downhill or coasting... If you are moving, you are using HP. Even if you are decelerating, you are using the inertia built up by the whole mass of the hull and load at speed.

Water never forgives ...

40:1 is a the sweet spot for most 2-strokes. A bit wet for the sake of the bearings and the rings. Use the best oil you can afford. Motul makes some outstanding 2-stroke oils, but they are very pricey ($19/L).

No 2-stroke ever died from to much oil

When boat reaches its maximum speed (depending on prop setup) I think that engine load is aroun zero...around! Because it covers only relatively small loses of drag caused by water to sustain that speed


so once I get up to max speed I can basically them move on to infinite speed....lol
