Here's the UOA from my EcoDiesel running Delo 600 ADF 15w40. This is the longest run that I've done and waited for the OLM to reach 4%. The TBN was down to 1 so I'm glad that I changed it when I did. Does anyone know what the Nickel is from?
That potassium.....do you have a failed oil cooler?

Interesting stuff.Apparently it's part of their anti-wear package. The other, older, potassium hits are from the gasket maker when changed the oil pan.

Good info, makes sense now, thanks!Don't fret over the TBN number. The standard TBN test uses an acid and measures it's reaction to the metallic additives used for base number retention (I'm simplifying this)....600 ADF does not have those metals to begin with so the standard TBN test will always return low numbers . Chevron offers specific test kits for 600 ADF.
Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on the Nickel?
